Grown Slowly, On Purpose

Petalora started in 2019 with a Saturday market stall, a borrowed bicycle, and more enthusiasm than sense. Seven years on, the bicycle is retired — the enthusiasm isn't.

The studio on Willowmere Lane

Our corner of Portland smells of eucalyptus and fresh coffee. The front room is the shop — buckets of whatever looked best at dawn market. The back room is the bench, where every bouquet is tied to order.

Come by on a Saturday morning and you can watch your flowers being arranged while you wait. The kettle is always on.

Local first, always

Twelve family growers within a hundred miles supply most of what we sell from March to October. In winter we buy certified stems and say so plainly on every tag.

  • Compostable wrapping on every order, no plastic sleeves
  • Studio offcuts become donation posies for care homes
  • Bicycle delivery for the neighbourhood, van beyond

The people

Seven florists, one very patient van driver, and a studio dog named Basil.

Cut to order

Nothing sits in the cooler for a week. Your flowers are conditioned the day they leave, which is why they last.

Honest seasons

We sell what's growing, and tell you where it grew. Peonies in June taste sweeter for the wait.

Kind to the end

Every arrangement comes with a care card, and every question after gets a real answer from a real florist.
